TEN-TIME WORLD CHAMPIONS
The most accomplished international lacrosse program added another memorable championship to its portfolio with a dramatic 9-8 victory over rival Canada in the 2018 world championship in Netanya, Israel.
The U.S. - Canada rivalry in men's lacrosse is simply one of the best rivalries in all of sports. Since 2002, the two countries have altered championships with the U.S. winning in 2002, 2010 and 2018 and Canada winning in 2006 and 2014.
The 2018 championship was a record 10th for the U.S. team program since the inaugural championship in 1967. Duke head coach John Danowski was the head coach for that squad and he will once again lead the team in 2023 when the U.S. heads to Southern California attempting to bring home championship number 11.
